Reeeeaaaaallllllyyyyyy having a hard time with this one. I find the language very difficult to read and understand. I think the only thing saving me is knowing that the movie 'Clueless' was loosely based on this book.
I hate to say this to all the Jane Austen fans out there, but I think this may be the one and only book of hers I will read. I am going to finish it. It's just going to take a while.

Got through that one!
I finally finished The Writing on the Wall. What a wonderful book! I definitely look forward to reading the others in the series and seeing what happens to everyone. I am especially interested in the Stoltz family nd what happens to them.
Up next is Emma by Jane Austen. I've never read a Jane Austen novel, so this should be interesting.

It's Been A While
I am still reading The Writing on the Wall by Dean Hughes. It's a longer one and so it's taking me longer than usual. It's a really good book. The Stoltz family situation tears me apart inside. I think things might be looking up for them though. So I'm hoping to see good things soon for them. I would like to see them escape Germany, but I don't think that is going to happen.

The Writing on the Wall
This is the next book I am reading. It is the first book in the Hearts of the Children series by Dean Hughes. It is set in the 1960s and shows how the turmoil of that era affects a family of Latter-Day Saints.
Book 3 done
I have just finished The Hunger Games. I have mixed feelings about this one. I definitely don't condone people killing each other, especially kids. This is certainly not a book for young readers. I won't let my kids read it until they are at least 14 or 15 years old when I know they will understand it more.
That said, I did enjoy the book. I would like to be like Katniss. She's tough and tender, can fend for herself, and is a survivor. I am looking forward to learning what happens when she gets home to District 12 in the next book.

Hunger Games
Hunger Games is the next book I have chosen to read. I've heard it's an excellent book. There are two others in the series, so I'm sure I'll end up reading those as well.
If anyone has read it, leave me some comments. When I'm done reading, maybe we can have a discussion group.

In the Dark Streets Shineth
A wonderful book! The messages given by President Roosevelt and Winston Churchill are poignant and thought-provoking. They are as relevant today as they were in 1941. If you take the chance to read it, you won't regret it.

America (The Book) is out. Next up....
I have decided not to read any more of the above mentioned book. Too much of the 'f' word in it. I am not one that likes to read swear words.
So, instead I am going to start reading 'In the Dark Streets Shineth' by David McCullough.

One down, 74 more to go!
Just finished reading 'Fear Nothing'. I liked that Orson turned out to be a really smart dog! Too bad for those monkeys, though. I wonder if some of them will emerge again in the next book, 'Seize the Night'. I will have to put that one on my To Read list. I even have a signed copy of it sitting on my shelf that I have never read.
Well, on to the next book.....

Found My Next Book
I know what my next book is going to be! It is 'America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction'. It was done by The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.
It will be interesting to read. My hubby is not sure if it is going to be something I will be interested in. We'll see. I still need to finish 'Fear Nothing'.

"Fear Nothing" update #1
So I'm a little over half way through the book. It's weird, but good! The monkeys.... oh the monkeys.... they are monkeys, and yet, they aren't monkeys. And Orson the dog is quite interesting. He has very human-like characteristics. I almost expect him to start talking.
I'm looking forward to figuring out what is going on at Wyvern, the closed down military base.
More notes to come later....

New Goals!
It's a new year and thanks to an old friend, I have a new goal. I have started this blog to track the books I will read this year. The goal is to read 16+ books more than what I read last year. That's a huge goal for me. As anyone who knows me can attest, I am an avid reader. Really avid. Voracious you could say! To read at least 16 more books than I read last year will mean I need to read about 75 books. I am starting right now.
My first book is Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz.
